Session 3 Recap

In last night's session, the Orphanauts (sigh) explored the ruins of the small keep they discovered at the conclusion of the last session. After discovering a small shrine, they decided to split up.

One team, comprised of Panzoo, Leonore, Artland (who recently and mysteriously returned), and Leif. After contending with a difficult staircase, they entered a mysterious room lit with blue fire. They would find that the room was inhabited by Burning Eye, a Will-o-the-Wisp dedicated to Boccob. After a short but riveting exchange, Burning Eye made Leif into a cleric of Boccob and gifted them with a few bows.

The other team, comprised of Joseph and Pon Farr, elected to explore the castle beyond a heavy stone door. After Pon Farr negotiated the door, they found a long corridor that terminated in a small wooden door. The two bravely plunged forward, overcame a great number of traps, and for their efforts gained a small amount of gold.

Thoughts?

That was a hella lot of traps, and I wasn't sure if I would survive the entire thing. Good thing that rage gives me extra hit points, or I may have been a goner. And it seemed like a lot of risk for not so much reward. Well, it was fun, in a masochist sort of way.

Such are the truthful remembering, or maybe ramblings of Josephs Tiggerbottoms:

Things were going so well for me. We were doing stuff, I found this sweet pool of water that made me feel all good inside, and then Lenore was all like, Lets split up gang and somehow I got paired up with the smelly half orc. I guess they figure there should be a smart person in every group, which is why I went in one group and the tree went in the other.

But then this creepy knight guy showed up and was all like ooooooo (like spooky) but then it turned out to be Ardin (sp?) showed up again, turned out he went on a quest where he found Lancelot’s armour. Not really sure who this Lancelot guy is but his armour was way too big for Ardin so we gave it to Lief.

Anyway I don’t really know what happened to the other group, all I know is they were loud. But Pon Farr and I were going down this dark tunnel and the floor gave way but I was all like hah and jumped before it fell, oh so did Pon Farr. My jump was sexier though. We kept going down the tunnel then spears popped out of the wall and tried to stab us and the did!!! It hurt like it hurts looking at Pon Farr, so I came up with a new plan. I sent Pon Farr down in front of me and let him set off all the traps, he got covered in goo and fire and all kinds of bad things and I just walked around them all. Then we got to this door with a room and it was full of gold, so I said, “Hey Pon Farr go in and get some gold”

He went in and I waited and waited and he didn’t come back so then I was like Pon Farr what are you doing and I went in and…

I found my self standing on a large open green field. It was pretty dark but then a bright light from above filled the sky. It wasn’t to long before the light landed in the field next to me and these odd green dwarves got out of the light. I probably would have killed them except their beards… they were the most amazing beards I had ever seen. They were so EPIC!!! I can’t even describe in words the awe inspiring power of these beards. So I won’t. They explained to me that their civilization was at war with green elves except they had each become so used to fighting one another they were at a perpetual stalemate neither being able to out maneuver the other.

I told them I was always willing to help dwarven brothers, and they said that only my unique tactical mind could save them. So they gave me a light craft of my own and taught me how to use it. I led their armada of light crafts in a truly legendary battle and it was quickly apparent the green elves were unprepared for the cunning and skill I brought to the battle for within a matter of minutes we had destroyed every last green elf.

There were grand celebrations on the green dwarf home world in my honour. But eventually I had to leave and the green dwarves agreed to return me to the room with Pon Farr. I told Pon Farr to grab some gold but he didn’t so I did, then he did cause he can be kind of an asshole some times.

We both made our way out of the treasure room. I don’t know what all happened to the other group but they were coming down at the same time. I did notice that Ardin had two bows now, one of which was my size but it looked like he was keeping them both. I didn’t want to say anything and look like a jerk but I don’t see why he needs two bows since he can only use one at a time and since I don’t really have a bow right now. I mean I have my stick and string that whore bag gave me before she turned me into a frog but it isn’t a very good bow and I don’t have any arrows. Oh well I guess I am just going to follow along, who knows maybe Ardin will get board with one and give it to me. Maybe some arrows too. That would be nice. I don’t want to be an inconvenience or anything though.
